6 Meter Antennas KMA5054 Antenna Specifications (6 Meter Log Periodic) Boom length - 6 feet Full band coverage with NO tuning or adjusting --- Work ssb or repeaters with the same antenna. Why a log periodic that covers only 6 meters? One of my blind ham friends had his homebrew, 6 meter yagi damaged in a storm. The installation would be easier for his non-ham brother if no adjustments were required, so I designed this log periodic. I assembled and tested this antenna during Field Day and the following week. The gain figures were verified by on-the-air tests with a local (30 miles away) station. We used a 6 meter dipole as a reference, and the figures closely matched those predicted by EZNEC. I also tested this antenna mounted on a 45 degree angle instead of horizontal. This did not seem to degrade the horizontal signal much at the receiving test station and the signal into a repeater (100 miles) was pretty good. I had never tried this before, but it worked quite well. Note: The KMA5054 also shows good gain on 2 Meters. This is the big brother of the KMA5054. Excellent gain and front to back ratio. No adjustments necessary for swr less than 1.5 over the entire band. Boom Length - 15 feet
